St Louis Book Fair and Yummy Jilly's Cupcakes

The vintage books I snagged

I also found another mcguffy reader and spelling book.

This one is a gem. I remember these as a kid

The illustrations are awesome
My husband was out of town this week but did us girls stay home and twiddle our thumbs? Heck no. I went to the St. Louis Book Fair for the first time and I would definitely go again. We were there for 2 hours but could have been there way longer. Afterward we grabbed Jilly's cupcakes and chinese food and watched old movies and worked on gifts for the next days wedding reception and a couple extra crafty things for ourselves.

The kids enjoying the make your own popcorn station.

On Sunday we went to an open house wedding reception.  The couple had a small family wedding earlier in the weekend and then had an open house style reception with deserts and a make your own popcorn station. Who doesn't like popcorn? Especially when they have little containers filled with candy and nuts dried fruits lining the table for you to put in to your hearts content. The kids and adults both loved it. We had a blast. How was your weekend? Hopefully it was a great one. It's rainy here today which makes it hard to get serious about homeschooling today but we only have 2 more weeks till summer vacation. Just gotta hold in there 2 more weeks. Happy Tuesday All.

Xoxo

  1. Hi, I just wanted to visit your blog to get to know a bit about you. Thank you for the thoughtful comment you've left on Lune. I've really enjoyed reading them.

So you're a home schooler? That's something I've thought of more than once. Is this your first year?

  2. When I saw this, I have to say that my heart skipped a beat. Your blog is one of my absolute favorites and one that I read and don't skim thru. I really am grateful that you not only stopped by but left a comment. I know you are a super busy mom so it means a lot. To answer your question, this is,my second year home schooling and I love every minute of it. I have 2 girls, 9 & 12 years old and like you am juggling work and kids. Reading your posts gives me hope that I can do it all and still be a good mom. Thanks again for stopping by.

    1. My pleasure! It looks like you're a very dedicated mom. Home schooling is a huge responsibility, and it takes a very special person to go for it - especially in the older grades. Thank you for sharing. I'm glad you have a blog I could come visit and say thank you in person ;-D
