Churro Donuts

These were delicious. My daughter and I thought they tasted like churros, hence the name. We used a Wilton 6 count donut pan and this recipe made 2 dozen. We used the barefoot contessa's recipe and they turned out tender and yummy.
The recipe is as follows...

Baking spray with flour
2 c all purpose flour
1 1/2 c sugar
2t baking powder
1t cinnamon
1/2t nutmeg
1/2t kosher salt
1 extra large egg
1 1/4 c whole milk
2T unsalted butter
2t vanilla

for topping..
1 stick of butter, melted
1/2 c sugar
1/2 t cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350 and spray the pan.
Into a large bowl, sift flour, sugar baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
In a small bowl, wish together the egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry until combined.
Spoon batter into the pan, filling 3/4 full and bake for 17 minutes or until a tooth pick comes out clean. Transfer to a cooking rack.
Melt your butter in one bowl and mix your other topping ingredients in another.
Dip your donuts in the butter and then the cinnamon/sugar mixture and then enjoy!
