What a fun weekend. We originally decided they were going to stay home but then when we were downtown, my husband looked up our favorite hotel (Embassy Suites). Which we try to stay at where ever we go. We landed a last minute room for $100 bucks, which is unheard of, and we snatched it up. Their beds are the comfiest and they provide you with a good hot breakfast in the morning and my favorite, complementary cocktail hour. So between both of those things, they really didn't make much money on our stay. The only downside to this is that we had to rough it the next day because we didn't bring anything with us. I just happened to have tooth past in my purse (don't ask my why, I'm a pack rat) This time it came in handy. Even tho I had to use my finger as a brush, I felt somewhat fresher. And deodorant, thank god. so with all pertinent areas covered, we were ready for brunch the next morning.
The Millennium Hotel was beautiful. At the top of the hotel is where their restaurant and they had a great brunch. I dined on prime rib and crab legs, amongst other things. The best part was the view. If you want to get a full view of downtown, this is the place to go. It is a revolving roof top restaurant so you get all views of downtown. The Arch, Bush Stadium and others are clearly seen right from your table. It was awesome.
When we got home, our family had a nice dinner for us and my daughter made tiramisu cupcakes for us. It was such a nice way to spend time with my husband and family. I wish it came around more than once a year.
Have a great weekend.
Rachel
